How it works

One connected workflow, from map to delivery

Engage replaces disconnected maps, address-count spreadsheets and separate print enquiries with a guided four-step process.

01

Create the area

Draw a shape or select a recognised boundary, then choose the property types to include.

02

Choose the print

Select the item, specification and options such as envelopes, then upload your document.

03

Select delivery

Choose the delivery service, an available date and your own campaign reference.

04

Review and submit

Check the complete job in one summary before anything is committed to production.

Mapping tools

Map the area in the way that fits the project

Use a precise custom shape, a fixed distance from a point or a buffer around a route. Each tool immediately returns the addresses inside the selected area.

Polygon Engage map showing a custom polygon traced around central London with the addresses inside it counted

Polygon

Trace a custom project or consultation boundary, point by point, around the exact area affected.

Follow the precise edge of a site or scheme
Adjust individual points after drawing
Radius Engage map showing a circular radius catchment drawn around a central point

Radius

Create a consistent catchment around a single point, useful where a set distance has to be evidenced.

Apply the same distance across every site
Simple to explain to stakeholders
Buffer Engage map showing a buffer corridor following a route, capturing properties within a set distance either side

Buffer

Follow a road, route or linear scheme and capture the properties within a set distance either side.

Built for highways and linear infrastructure
Set the corridor width in metres
Address visibility

See the addresses, not just the boundary

Display a dot for every address so teams can visually check coverage before anything is printed or delivered. Counts are separated into residential, commercial and total addresses for every shape.

Visualise individual address locations
Separate residential and commercial totals
Manage multiple shapes and combined counts
Search by address, postcode, coordinates or what3words

Boundaries & layers

Use boundaries your teams already understand

Select a recognised geographic or administrative boundary instead of tracing it manually. Engage works with postcode sectors, wards, parishes, council areas and constituencies, and returns the address counts straight away.

Start Mapping
Optional layer

Know who represents the area

WhoRelevant ward councillors within the mapped area
DetailUseful contact details for stakeholder planning
ControlSwitched on only when it is useful to the project
Political context

Add political context when it matters

Turn on political data to identify relevant ward councillors and view useful contact details within the mapped area. It gives stakeholder and consultation teams a faster starting point for local engagement planning.

Political data is optional and can be switched on only when it is useful to the project.

Multi-area projects

Keep complex maps clear and organised

Name each shape, choose its colour, switch between filled and outline views, and review the residential, commercial and combined totals. This makes multi-area projects easier to understand and share.

Naming & colour

Label every shape

Give each area a name the whole team recognises
Set a colour per shape to tell areas apart
Switch between filled and outline views
Counts

Totals you can check

Residential, commercial and combined totals
Per-shape counts alongside the project total
Handle overlapping areas without double counting
Sharing

Take the work forward

Export the selected addresses for your records
Show or hide map information as needed
Move straight into print and delivery

What is Engage? +

Engage is a community engagement delivery platform. It helps teams define an area, calculate the properties within it, prepare print and choose a delivery service in one guided workflow.

Which mapping tools are available? +

You can draw a custom polygon, create a fixed radius, build a buffer around a route or select a recognised boundary such as a postcode sector, ward, parish, council area or constituency.

What address information can I see? +

Engage shows residential, commercial and total address counts for each shape and across the complete map. Address dots can be displayed to help check coverage visually.

Can I arrange print and delivery through the platform? +

Yes. You can choose the print item and specification, add options such as envelopes, upload your document, select an available delivery service and review the full job summary before submitting.

Can Engage support stakeholder planning? +

Yes. Optional political data can show relevant ward councillors and useful contact information within the selected area, helping teams understand the local stakeholder landscape.
